Port Terminals

The Port of Setúbal is composed of diverse terminals with two distinct natures – public service terminals and terminals for private use.

Public Service Terminals

Multipurpose Terminal Zone 1 - TERSADO

This terminal is concessioned to TERSADO and is destined to the handling of general break bulk cargo, Roll-on/Roll-off, solid bulk and containers. It has:

• A wharf front 864 meters long and a Roll-on/Roll-off slope 30 meters wide (5 berths);
• Depths of -9,5 m (CD) with a length of 170m and depths of -10,5 m (CD) with a length of 694m;
• 2,116 m2 of covered storage areas and 102,000 m2 of uncovered areas.

Multipurpose Terminal Zone 2 - SADOPORT

This terminal is concessioned to SADOPORT and is destined to the handling of general break bulk cargo, Roll-on/Roll-off (heavy) and containers. It has:

• A 725 meter-long wharf front, a depth of -15m (CD) (4 berths);
• Depths of -12m (CD);
• 1,619m2 of covered storage areas and 200,778m2 of uncovered areas.

Roll-On / Roll-Off Terminal / AutoEuropa Terminal

Destined to the handling of roll-on/roll-off cargo. It has:

• A 365-meter-long wharf front (2 berths) and a Roll-on/Roll-off slope, supported by dolphins (1 berth);
• Depths of -12m (CD);
• 150,000m2 of levelled ground total uncovered storage area of which 60,000 m2 were concessioned to AutoEuropa for private use.

SAPEC Port Terminal

This terminal is concessioned to SAPEC – Terminais Portuários S.A. and is destined to the handling of solid and liquid bulk. It has:

• A 112-meter-long wharf front (1 berth) that allows the berthing of vessels up to 200 meters long with 10,5 meters of draught;
• 25,000 m2 levelled ground for uncovered storage

Liquid Bulk Terminal

This terminal is concessioned to SAPEC - Terminais Portuários, SA and is destined to the handling of liquid bulk. It has:
• A berth composed of three dolphins (2 for berthing and 1 for mooring) that allows the berthing of 190m-long vessels with draughts of up to -9,5m.

Private use Terminals

SECIL Terminal

This terminal is concessioned to the following companies: Secil - Companhia Geral de Cal e Cimento, S.A.; CMP - Cimentos Maceira e Pataias, S.A.; Secil Martingança - Aglomerados e Novos Materiais para Construção, Lda. and Secil Prebetão – Prefabricados de Betão, S.A. The terminal is destined to the handling of solid bulks (cement, clinker and coal). It has:

• A 105-meter-long West Dock where 150-meter-long vessels with a 9-meter draught and 179-meter-long vessels with a 9-meter draught can operate;
• An East Dock with a 98-meter wharf front, supported by a dolphin, that allows the berthing of 125-meter-long vessels with a 7,1-meter draught;
• A levelled ground of approximately 61,000 m2.

Uralada Terminal

This terminal is licensed to Uralada Portugal, S.A. and is destined to the handling of liquid bulks (food oils and molasses).
It has:

• One berth composed of two dolphins. Vessels with a length up to 100 meters and a draught of up to 5,5 meters can operate in this terminal.

Praias do Sado Terminal (ex-Pirites Alentejanas)

This terminal is concessioned to the Sociedade Pirites Alentejanas, Somincor – Sociedade Mineira de Neves Corvo, S.A. and EDP - Gestão da Produção de Energia, S.A. This terminal is destined to the handling of liquid bulk and solid bulk cargo. It has:

• A 126-meter-long wharf front (1 berth) with depths of -9,5 m (CD) and a 19,000 m2 levelled ground of uncovered storage areas.

Alstom Portugal Terminal

This terminal is destined to the handling of general break bulk cargo.
It has:

• A wharf front of 90-meter-length where 110-meter-long vessels with a draught up to 6 meters can operate.

Tanquisado/Eco-Oil Terminal

This terminal is conceded to Tanquisado - Terminais Marítimos, SA and to Eco Oil - Tratamento de Águas Contaminadas, S.A. It is destined to the handling of liquid bulks (fuel) and has a station for cleaning and gas freeing of vessels. It has:

• A jetty and dolphins;
• A berth to the west (Tanquisado) for tanker vessels that transport fuel, allows the berthing of vessels up to 200 meters long with a draught of 9,5 meters;
• A berth to the east (Eco Oil) for vessels destined to the cleaning and gas freeing of vessels, allows the berthing of VLCC vessels with a draught of up to 7,5 meters.

Terminal TERMITRENA

This terminal is licensed to the following companies: Cimpor – Indústria de Cimentos, S.A., Secil – Companhia Geral de Cal e Cimento, S.A., Secil Martingança - Aglomerados e Novos Materiais para Construção, Lda., and CMP - Cimentos Maceira e Patais, S.A. This terminal is destined to the handling of solid bulk cargo. It has:

• A 152-meter-long wharf front (1 berth) that allows the berthing of vessels up to 200 meters long with a draught of up to 10 meters;
• A 160,000 m2 levelled ground for uncovered storage.

Teporset Terminal

This terminal is concessioned to Teporset - Terminal Portuário de Setúbal S.A. and is destined to the handling of solid bulks (clinker and cement).It has:

• A 165-meter-long wharf front, able to operate 152-meter-long vessels with a draught up to 9,3 meters;
• A levelled ground of approximately 70,000 m2.
